I admit, I was hoping to receive the "Take Me Home" makeup kit, for its Earth tones, but I ended up receiving the "Up All Night" kit -- designed for "the party girl," and I'm very pleased! The shades are totally what I would wear when I go out for a night on the town with my husband. Whomever designed this kit was right on mark when s/he decided to choose these specific shades for a "party girl." I can definitely see myself wearing most of these products when I'm partying in Las Vegas, for example.
One Direction's "Up All Night" makeup kit includes:
- "Taken" Liquilights Glow Gloss: A powerhouse pink lipgloss that glows to neon orange under UV light!
- 4+1 Eyeshadow Palette in playful blues and versatile neutrals:
- "More than This": Soft blushing pink.
- "Gotta be You": Silvered taupe shimmer.
- "Save You Tonight": Shimmering turquoise blue.
- "Another World": Royal blue shimmer.
- "Up All Night": Sapphire glitter creme.
- "I Should Have Kissed You": Bubble gum pink lipstick.
- "Little Black Dress": Volumizing mascara in a perfect black shade.
- "Na Na Na": Aqua-blue metallic chrome beautiful nail polish.
- "Stand Up": Dark denim eye and body crayon.
- Bonus: Includes a 5-piece decorator stencil set that you can use to decorate yourself, your friends, and your things!
First, let's look at the eyeshadow palette. This palette comes with four eyeshadows, and one glittery gel-cream, hence the name "4+1." All four eyeshadows are extremely pigmented, and feel so creamy, despite being powder. I would compare them to Urban Decay's Moondust eyeshadow collection, for comparison's sake.
"More Than This," the soft pink shade is very neutral, and makes a wonderful base, along with brow bone highlighter. "Gotta Be You," the shimmery taupe eyeshadow, is very pigmented and has a satin finish. I am crazy about this kit!
"Save Tonight," an irredescent, sparkly (but not glittery! Perfect.) seafoam green is so beautiful. It flash turqouise blue in certain lights, and looks as though it changes colors as you move.
"Another World" is a deep, royal blue shade that is absolutely wonderful. Also irredescent and sparkly, it is tasteful and not garish at all.
Lastly, "Up All Night" is a glitter cream. It is eye-safe, does not feel gritty, and is quite long-lasting. It is extremely sparkly and stays put. This product is perfect for holiday seasons to come!
The "Little Black Dress" mascara is wonderful; it truly does volumize and lengthen. I have worn this all day without experiencing any flaking or smudging. Did I mention that it is in a very, very deep shade? So dramatic.
"I Should Have Kissed You" lipstick is a very Barbie-pink shade. It is creamy, soft, yet also matte and very opaque. Also, the lipstick does not smudge; once it's on your lips, it stays there and does not travel. Think of the Barbie dolls of your childhood; this lipstick is the exact shade of lipstick worn by them. The pink shade would look much better on a cool-toned person; I'm a bit too warm for it. All is not lost, though; I know the perfect person to give this lipstick to. So while it is not suitable for my skin tone (NC20), I do admit that itis a beautiful and very fun pink. :o)
"Taken" Liquilights Lipgloss looks beautiful in all lightings! However, I think that it would look more amazing when you're at the club or at a concert, because of the lighting. It is a sheer, hot pink shade with a gel-like finish, and fine multicolored glitters. I can feel the glitters on my lips a little bit, but I would really have to try to feel them, so they don't bother me. Did I mention that the color changes under UV lighting? The hot pink lipgloss would glow into neon orange. So cool!
"Stand Up" is a bold blue pencil that you can use on your eyes, and on your body. It truly is so long-lasting that even my makeup removal wipe could not remove all of it, so I had to use a second sheet. The blue is very cool-toned, so I am unsure about wearing this as an eye makeup, but it is totally fun to doodle on my body with, using the stencils that come with the kit!
One of my most favorite products from the kit: the "Na Na Na" nail polish! It was extremely difficult to perfectly capture this shade on camera, just because the colors constantly changes with movement and the light. I just love it. "Na Na Na" reminds me of a peacock feather, in that it flashes all varieties of blue and green shades.
Just two coats are pigmented enough to give my fingers full coverage. The nail polish dries quickly and is very long-lasting as well.
Last, but not least, are five super cool stencils that you can use to decorate yourself, your friends, and your things. :o) I plan on using these to decorate my jeans and sweaters with fabric paints, so I'm very excited!
